Live online events
“Yes, there’s an App for that!” Mobile Apps have become a central part of our daily interactions and communications, and we want to help students learn how to create their own apps. Android App Development teaches students the basics of App Development using App Inventor for the Android mobile platform. Development of mobile apps start with the basic design of user interfaces and the limited interactive real estate available on a Mobile platform. In addition to front-end graphics and animation, students are further introduced to backend development to include necessary control logic; incorporate geo-location and maps; integrate phone, wi-fi, and near-field communications (NFC); and process inputs from temperature, barometric, and other sensors. Finally, students apply these skills through the creation of their own Mobile App projects. Upon completing this course, students are able to translate their foundational experience in this course to Java and other text-based development environments.
