CITY Shaper Challenge

What if you could build a better world? Where would you begin?  Our cities and towns face big issues, like transportation, accessibility and even natural disasters. How can we shape a better future for everyone? It will take teamwork and imagination. Are you ready to build a better tomorrow together?  In FIRST LEGO League®, you are part of a thriving community brimming with inspiration, creativity, and hope for a stronger, more sustainable future—one that’s built better together.  You have the power to help the cities, towns, and places you call home reach new heights.  This is your opportunity to lead our future forward—and up.

Activities

This program does not go into competition.  Official registrations for FIRST LEGO League® Robotics occur each Fall; therefore, our Spring program does not go into competition against other schools.  Instead, we take the opportunity to learn from the challenges as established by the FIRST LEGO League® organization.  Students are still coached according to the rules of the FLL program using official FLL equipment, course layout, lesson, and core value principles.

During this program, students learn to design solutions to challenges using the LEGO® Education Mindstorms EV3® Robotic system.  Students must create a system that navigates an official FLL Course layout; document their work in an Engineering Notebook; and share their journey through a team Show Me Poster.  Teams operate under the FIRST Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.  There are 10-weeks of challenges associated with the FIRST LEGO League® program and we will be exploring each one!  Students are suggested to take all 10-weeks, but may choose to attend fewer if they prefer.  FLL Robotics classes are held every Tuesday @ 4PM-6PM between January 14th-May 28th, 2020.   No classes are held on 3/10 and 4/14.  FIRST LEGO League® is open to all students ages 11-14 yo.  All fees, equipment, lesson plans, trained instructors, etc. are included.  Register today!
