Enrollment for this program is limited students in Grades KG-1 and currently matriculated at Bugbee Elementary School in West Hartford, CT.  Identification will be checked, so please ensure your emergency contact and information for those who you authorize for pickup are included in your registration at check out.  For your child’s safety, NextGen SmartyPants Teachers are unable to dismiss a child to anyone not previously authorized for pickup.  All NextGen SmartyPants Teachers are experienced educators and have undergone extensive background checks, child abuse prevention training, fire and emergency safety training, and basic first aid training.  Your Teacher will reach out and provide you their direct contact information as the start date of class gets closer.
Each week, please let your school know that you authorize your child to attend our class after school; this helps prevent errors of children from getting on the school bus.  Classes will beginning immediately after school from 3:2oPM-4:30PM.  Students will be asked to visit restrooms, eat snack, take medications, etc. if needed prior to entering the classroom and our program will begin at 3:30PM.
When you arrive to pick-up your child, please come right into the classroom.  While it is not always possible, if you have the opportunity, please consider arriving a little bit early so that your child can show you what they have learned and accomplished during our program.  Our students work very hard in our classes and we have found this ability to share their work with the people that they love most to be a huge motivator for them!  Students will be asked to clean-up their stations prior to exiting the classroom.  Please consider us partners in your child’s education and let us know what more we can do to ensure they get the most out of their time with us.  Thank you!
