All programs are held at our Maker Studio located at The Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton, CT, but we may also be able to bring our STEAM classes to your school depending on location.

Our Teaching Methodology for STEAM Education

NextGen SmartyPants is made up of various teachers, parents and passionate engineers who want to help kids and adults work in STEAM. We want students to gain confidence in themselves by growing more comfortable with  these topics. It’s made up of numerous classes, camps, after school programs and professional assistance that can help our students feel comfortable even when they are sure they are not going to do well. We want our students to take on the world around them with a renewed confidence in themselves.

STEM/STEAM CLASSES

People in East Granby who want to learn more about science, technology, engineering, art and math can check out our curriculum if they want to learn in an after-school class. These are offered through East Granby schools and in the Canton, CT facility we are based out of. We offer classes for children as young as preschoolers and go all the way up to adulthood, with classes including 3D printing, circuits, coding, engineering, lego building, personal finance, robotics and more.

STEM/STEAM CAMPS

NextGen SmartyPants offers several STEAM camps for children who don’t have time for our after-school program and want to dedicate themselves to a topic over an accelerated period of time. We divide them into age brackets: Junior, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced programs all available for people to take a hands-on experience towards learning. They can take courses such as robotics, coding, engineering and even LEGO building.

STEAM FOR KIDS

No matter how old your child is, we can tailor a STEAM course for them at NextGen SmartyPants. Robotics, 3D Printing, Coding, engineering and much more are available and designed with the child’s age in mind. Our facility offers classes in our studio and at Farmington schools in Junior (ages 4-7) Beginner (7+), Intermediate (10+) and Advanced (13+) age groups We want to challenge young minds to explore subjects beyond just what is typically covered in school.

3D printing, robotics and engineering are not just interests children can pursue.
