All programs are held at our Maker Studio located at The Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton, CT, but we may also be able to bring our STEAM classes to your school depending on location.

Our Teaching Methodology for STEM Education

NextGen SmartyPants serving New Hartford is a team of engineers, teachers and parents who offer many services in the STEAM fields to help people explore their interests. Whether they are ready to take on a new hobby or are starting the beginning of a new career, we want to help them find success. We are a group of educators dedicated to providing students with the right foundation to explore, grow and gain confidence in technology. 

We want to help all students regardless of age or level feel comfortable and confident in learning new skills. We encourage our students to be independent thinkers through our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) courses and camps available at our studio in Canton, CT. There are also adult level courses and programs available at NextGen, and we can assist teachers with creating STEAM-based curriculums or getting up to speed with the new digital world.

For New Hartford children and adults looking for new learning opportunities, we have created a fun learning environment with an engaging curriculum that offers students to learn in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. We also offer courses designed for adults as well as classes for preschoolers. Our after-school classes are fun weekly, STEAM education classes serving at New Hartford CT schools and even at our studio. Some classes that we offer involve  3D printing, circuits, coding, engineering, lego building, personal finance, robotics and more.

At NextGen, we offer STEM/STEAM Education camps all year round. Our camps focus on hard skills for future careers in science, technology, engineering, art or math in fun and engaging summer and fall settings. These settings are a great way for students to foster new life skills or gain development in problem-solving, creativity and collaboration. Our Junior programs are suitable for ages 4-7, beginner programs are for ages 7 and up, our intermediate programs are for ages 10 and up, and our advanced programs are perfect for ages 13 and up.
