Election Day

Celebrate our right to vote the NextGen way! On this special day, kids learn about learn about democracy, the importance of voting, and enjoy a day of fun, STEAM learning!

All programs listed here are held at the NextGen SmartyPants Maker Studio in Canton, CT

Holiday Camp Schedule

As with all of our Holiday Camps, we start the each session with a discussion of the reason for our holiday - in this case Election Day.  We discuss what it means to vote and it's importance as the foundation of our democracy. And then Students are asked to construct a LEGO build expressing what they learn and understand. LEGO projects are displayed for Parents and Visitors to see as we celebrate our right to vote on this special day.
After our LEGO build, depending on whether it's the Morning or Afternoon session, Students are provided STEAM project options as follows:

Morning Session

During the Morning Session, Students are organized by Grade level and may choose between either Coding or Engineering as their activity for the session.  For full course descriptions, please click on the respective link below:

Regardless of the option they choose, all Students receive lessons that are age-appropriate and different than they have seen in any previous course they may have taken.

Afternoon Plan
