Welcome Families!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your children's STEAM education needs. NextGen SmartyPants is excited to be bringing our award-winning STEAM programs to the students of CREC Academy ACSE.  We invite you to peruse information contained on this website site so that you gain an understanding of the curriculum and how it serves your child.
Parents are an integral part of our curriculum and we invite you to arrive early and join your child in our classroom whenever possible. At the end of each class, you will receive an email summary and a link to pictures and video from the day's lesson from your child's Teacher. We ask that you discuss this information with your child, ask them to present to you what they learned, and identify real-world applications of the lessons over the course of the week between classes. Our children's conversations with their Parents reinforce learning and identify areas of importance in their lives that deserve special focus.
NextGen SmartyPants Teachers are available to assist you with registration, or creating an educational plan for your child. Contact us at any time at (860) 272 -4000 or hello@nextgensmartypants.org.

Who We Are

The NextGen SmartyPants Non-Profit Corporation is a registered 501(c)3 educational non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the highest quality STEAM education to the students of our communities. We raise money from corporations, family offices, government-funded grants, and contributing Parents to provide significantly reduced or free education to children in underserved districts across the state. NextGen SmartyPants was started in 2016 by a Parent at Norfeldt Elementary School in West Hartford. Many of our part-time Teaching staff are themselves Teachers, Administrators, members of the PTO, and Parents of children in the schools where we teach our programs. If you are a stay-at-home or work-from-home Parent, are passionate to bring out the best in children, and are interested to teach our programs, please connect with us at the information included.

About Experience Levels

NextGen SmartyPants courses commonly combine students in different grade levels in the same course. Although students may be building projects similar to their younger or older classmates, students learn to apply Math skills and Engineering concepts appropriate for their Grade and Experience Level. Students are organized in teams with other students of their similar grade, age, and experience level. Click below to learn more about what's covered at the Experience Level for your child.
